In pursuit of fresh and tasty blue crabs, my dad and I launched our little wooden rowboat at sunrise on the Magothy River in Pasadena, Maryland. Sitting at the stern in the bliss of the morning, I admired his rowing skills as we glided through the quiet waters, the dipping oars gently breaking the silence, followed by the resonant bubbling and splashing, creating music, imagery and peacefulness I still fondly remember today.
TECHNIQUES
Inkjet-printed images on cotton, hand-dyed and inked cotton fabrics, appliqued with free-motion and machine stitching.
MATERIALS
Cotton fabrics, tulle, Inktense pencils, bias tape, fusibles, batting, cotton and monopoly thread.
