Dance Through Life

One of my daily walking friends, Lori, is a character who loves to dance. I snapped a photo of her one sunny morning, then drew a blind contour drawing onto paper (without looking at the drawing) and painted her onto a vintage hand quilted panel. Finally, I added a few patches of fabrics on top of the painting. When I look at this portrait, I see a joyful image of a fun lady, and I hear music! There’s a bit of transparency play between the leaves and the hat as well.
