BeWildered

$2,500.00

50” H x 36”W

I’m not sure why ferns and fronds have captivated my attention so completely that they have become the subject of my new series. The cyanotyped photograms of the ferns are individually hand cut from the exposed fabric and appliqued to a collaged background of artist created fabrics. Just as in nature, there is a wildness to the composition hence the name…BeWildered.

The process for creating the photograms requires treating fabric with a photosensitive solution and allowing it to dry. The second step requires placing masking objects over the fabric and exposing the fabric to sunlight. There are so many variables in the process from the color of the fabric originally, to the concentration of the chemicals, to the choices of the masking materials, to the brightness of the sun and the dryness or moistness of the fabric.

The biggest variable is the time length of exposure which can vary from minutes to hours. I embrace the unknown qualities of this type of creating and am excited when the newly created fabric is revealed.

PRICE INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING AND SALES TAX. (Shipments via regular ground service, to addresses in the contiguous US)

Shop with confidence! I want every customer to be happy with their selection. Please see “About Shipping and Returns” information on this website’s contact page. Thanks!
